Aspects to Angles (ASC · MC · IC · DSC)
Aspects to the Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, and Imum Coeli amplify visibility and timing. Because angles are sensitive, use tighter orbs and prioritize applying aspects for near‑term effects. The notes below show what each angle emphasizes and how to rank transits in practice.
Angle by angle
- ASC (eastern horizon): identity channel & instinctual style. Conjunctions/squares here are immediate and visible in presentation and behavior.
- DSC (western horizon): partnerships & projection. Aspects highlight the “mirror” dynamic—what you attract, negotiate, or reflect with others.
- MC (upper culmination): vocation, reputation, direction. Trines/sextiles can open doors; squares/oppositions challenge and grow public roles.
- IC (lower culmination): roots, home, inner life. Aspects modulate rest/restore cycles, family themes, property or land matters.
Orbs & direction
- Orbs: keep aspects to angles tighter than planet‑planet aspects (e.g., trim your usual orb by ~1°).
- Direction: favor applying hits for immediacy; separating marks influence that’s tapering.
- Stacking: angle + strong dignity + close aspect = high visibility; include retrogrades to understand pacing/expressivity.
Transit examples (how to prioritize)
- Fast → angle (applying): short, sharp activation—great for windows, announcements, outreach.
- Slow → angle (tight): structural shifts—career direction (MC), move/renovation (IC), relationship dynamics (DSC), personal image (ASC).
- Cluster near one angle: when multiple planets aspect the same angle within days, expect headlines in that life area.
